What Is 2000 Films?
2000 Films is a London-based film production company founded by Jamie Wigg and Sebastian Pedersen, both up and coming directors, cinematographers and producers.
We established the company in 2025 to create our own space, allowing us to produce and develop the films we are passionate about. While 2000 Films functions as a production company, it goes beyond the traditional model; We are hands-on in every project, from scriptwriting to producing to directing and cinematography, ensuring our creative vision is realised and shared with audiences worldwide. As well as producing in house films, we aim to help other filmmakers bring their vision to life, this will be done by sharing our experiences as well as resources.
Who Are 2000 Films?
2000 Films was founded by Jamie Wigg & Sebastian Pedersen. We are both current students studying Film & Tv in London. We decided to make the company due to how we wanted to create the films we loved and felt are creative. We both aspire to build a legacy and leave behind quality pieces of art that will stand the test of time.
Sebastian Pedersen (23), a half‑Finnish, half‑Danish filmmaker.
I developed an interest in film at a young age, watching movies with my father and older brother. In 2020, I discovered the possibility of studying film, which set me on a clear path forward. The following year, I was accepted into the one‑year film course at the European Film College in Denmark, where I fell in love with making films instead of just watching them.
After a couple of gap years, I enrolled in the Film and TV course at the University of Greenwich. I enjoy films that push the boundaries of what it means to be human—films that stay with you long after watching—particularly within genres like horror, sci‑fi, and thrillers. The directors I look up to, whose influence can be seen in my work, include Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and the late Stanley Kubrick. I draw inspiration not only from their films and techniques but also from their mindset and approach to storytelling.
My goal is to make 2000 Films a staple in the film world and to create feature films that become part of pop‑culture history. I won’t stop or settle for anything less.
Jamie Wigg (19).
Films and TV shows have always been integral to my life. From a young age, I loved watching movies and finding an escape in them. Growing up, I was never sure what I wanted to pursue as a career; however, I did realise I wanted to work in an environment that required using my hands and being on my feet.
Throughout my later teenage years, I spent more time watching movies as I found an escape in them. Films such as Beautiful Boy, Avatar, Marriage Story, and Le Mans ‘66 allowed me to separate myself from reality and enter new worlds. They offered fresh perspectives on life. I saw the impact a film can have on an individual and realised the impact I could potentially have if I began making my own.
I decided to study Film and TV at the University of Greenwich, where I am currently studying. After becoming close friends with Sebastian, I pitched the idea of creating a film over the summer of 2025. For me, being on set is where I find my creativity and enjoyment, which is why I love making films so much.
During the production of our first independent film, Seb and I came up with the idea of creating our own production company so we could have control over the projects we wanted to make and focus on what we felt was significant.
